The Bianconeri travel to the Artemio Franchi tonight with the aim of overturning the 2-1 deficit suffered in March’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg meeting at Juventus Stadium.

To do so and claim their place in June’s final, a clear victory by two goals is required, while a 2-1 away triumph would see the encounter go into extra time.

Head to head

There have been 13 previous Coppa Italia meetings between Fiorentina and Juventus: the Viola have the upper hand with six victories compared to the Bianconeri’s three.

It is the third time Fiorentina and Juventus will square up in the competition’s semi-final stages. The previous two occasions (1940 and 1961) saw the Viola go on to lift the trophy.

The last two Coppa Italia meetings (in the 1997/98 quarter-finals and 2005/06 last 16) saw the Bianconeri progress through to the next round.

Tonight will be the seventh time Fiorentina and Juventus have met since October 2013. History would suggest the game is finely balanced, with two victories and two draws for either side in this period.

Previous encounters in Florence

Juventus are yet to record a Coppa Italia victory in Florence: four defeats and three draws.

Two draws by a 2-2 margin have been the last two results in Coppa Italia games contested at the Artemio Franchi, both seeing the Bianconeri go on to reach the next stage of the competition.

Just one goal has been scored in the last two meetings between the sides in Florence (in all competitions). That honour was bestowed to Andrea Pirlo, who thumped home a free-kick to send Juventus through to the Europa League quarter-finals last season.

Current form

The Viola have hit the target in each of their last eight Coppa Italia games, netting 15 goals in total.

Juventus are unbeaten in their previous 12 away games: their last defeat came against Genoa at the Marassi in October, with eight wins and four draws registered since then.

General stats

The Bianconeri are without a victory in the last four semi-final encounters contested in the Coppa Italia: two draws and as many defeats.

Juventus (eight) and Fiorentina (seven) are the two teams to have scored the most goals from the Coppa Italia last 16 onwards in 2014/15.

Fiorentina have conceded just twice in this season’s Coppa Italia, both goals shipped in the first half.
