Yesterday’s solitary international action involving Massimiliano Allegri’s men saw Italy and Croatia play out an entertaining 1-1 EURO 2016 qualifying draw at San Siro.

In an end-to-end encounter, Antonio Candreva put the hosts ahead with a well-taken drive after 11 minutes but the visitors drew level on the quarter-hour mark when Ivan Perisic curled home from the edge of the Azzurri penalty area.

Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini and Claudio Marchisio all completed the full 90 minutes whilst Sebastian Giovinco remained an unused substitute as Niko Kovac's charges enjoyed long spells of dominance throughout but were unable to break through the Italian rearguard.

The result does not have great ramifications on Group H however with both Croatia and Italy locked on 10 points at the summit, one clear of Norway who were 1-0 victors away at Azerbaijan.

Following the culmination of yesterday’s EURO 2016 qualifier, Buffon, Chiellini and Marchisio left for Turin where they will take advantage of a day off before joining up with Allegri’s troops in Vinovo on Tuesday.

Stephan Lichtsteiner – who featured for Switzerland during Saturday’s win against Lithuania – is also due to return for training tomorrow.

Giovinco will remain with the Azzurri and they will also be bolstered by the return of Leonardo Bonucci for tomorrow’s friendly with Albania in Genoa after the 27-year-old served a one-game suspension for Antonio Conte’s outfit.

Tonight sees the turn of Kingsley Coman and his France Under-21 side as they welcome England to Brest, kick-off 21.00 CET.
