Fernando Llorente was full of superlatives for the team’s character after coming off the bench to play a crucial role in a dramatic second-half fightback during this evening’s 3-2 Champions League Group A triumph over Olympiacos.
The striker admits the Bianconeri had a tough task ahead of them after Delvin N’Dinga shot the Greeks in front just past the hour-mark - and puts the eventual comeback down to the talent and spirit present within the ranks.
Speaking to reporters at Juventus Stadium, the 29-year-old began: “It wasn’t easy for us today and everything became a lot harder when they scored their second. However, we showed a great response and I liked the way we turned the game on its head in the space of five minutes.
“There’s plenty of talent here and it’s down to Allegri to decide who should play. What is important is that those who come off the bench do so with the right spirit. I want to improve, help the team with my goals and possibly score more than last season.”
