Roberto Pereyra has enjoyed a good few weeks.
After featuring for his native Argentina twice over the international break, the 23-year-old had a starring role in this evening’s 3-0 victory over Lazio in the capital.
Speaking to Mediaset Premium at the culmination of proceedings in Rome, he began: “We knew Lazio are an aggressive and decent outfit, and our homework paid off. They wanted to win but we controlled the game and played like we know how.
“It’s important we keep on working if we want to carry on in the same vein and now our focus shifts to the Champions League.”
Following his summer switch from Udinese, Pereyra has found himself playing in a whole host of positions in his Bianconeri career so far.
The last two matches, however, have seen the Argentine operating just behind the striker and he concluded proceedings with a word on his new role: “I’m happy with my performance tonight and I feel in good shape. I like playing in that position.”
