Winners of the Juventus Social Selfie contest appeared in front of a worldwide audience last night, lighting up Juventus Stadium from the side of the pitch as as both teams produced a riveting encounter on it.
The digital initiative, which encouraged supporters to share photos taken through the official Bianconeri application Juventus Live, debuted for the visit of the Rossoneri and allowed fans from across the globe to get as close as possible to the team regardless of their geographical location.
The contest, open to registered users of Juventus Live, ran between 14 January and 2 February 2015 and saw approximately 45,000 social selfies sent in (more than 15,000 a week).
These were put to the public vote based on their ‘popularity’ (amount of likes, comments, shares and views), with the results then displayed on Facebook and the official club website.
Those earning the most votes had the delight of seeing their photos appear alongside Gianluigi Buffon and his team-mates last night, providing an added “12th man” to help spur the team on to another crucial three points.
