With Malmo’s Allsvenskan campaign drawing to a close last week, Olympiacos and Atletico Madrid both return to action this weekend against early strugglers in their respective divisions.

Sunday lunchtime will see Olympiacos look to bridge the five-point gap on league leaders PAOK by claiming a home win over Panthrakikos.

Michel’s men, defeated 3-2 by the Bianconeri in Tuesday’s Champions League tie at Juventus Stadium, are strong favourites to regain their stride against an outfit with just one win to their name all season.

Flying high at the top of Group A on nine points following Tuesday’s win over Malmo, Atletico Madrid will be out to maintain their impressive forward momentum and leapfrog La Liga leaders Barcelona, just one point above them in the standings, when they travel to managerless Real Sociedad on Sunday night.

A somewhat faltering start to the campaign has been well and truly put right by Diego Simeone’s men, who have shot back into La Liga and Champions League contention since the last international break, courtesy of five wins on the spin.

In stark contrast, strugglers Real Sociedad, who parted company with Jagoba Arrasate last weekend, have recorded just one success all season, taking six points from their first 10 games of the 2014/15 term.
