Empoli boss Marco Giampaolo is calling on his men to raise the bar when reigning champions Juventus travel to the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Sunday afternoon.
The 48-year-old coach refuted suggestions that tomorrow could be an ideal time to face the Bianconeri following their midweek Champions League exertions, insisting his players will have to pull out all the stops if they are to claim maximum points from a testing encounter.
Speaking to the media in Tuscany, he said: “Juventus are a beast that never sleeps. It will definitely be a tough game, even though we consider ourselves capable of giving it a good go. A decent performance isn’t enough to beat Juve though, you need that little bit extra.”
