Despite drawing against Chievo on Saturday evening, the Bianconeri enjoyed plenty of possession and shots, 25 of which were on target – the most they have managed in Serie A since last January’s win over the same opposition.

The hosts boasted the lion’s share of possession (69.5%), resulting in plenty of touches on the ball (826), crosses (58) and positive actions in the visitors’ box (30). Massimiliano Allegri’s men also kept their exchanges crisp and clean with an 88.9% pass completion rate, over 22% higher than that of their opponents.

Alex Sandro was a particularly busy man on his debut, as he made contact with the ball on 106 occasions, almost double the tally of Chievo’s most active player on the pitch (Gobbi with 54). The Brazilian left-back also weighed in with 11 crosses, 12 tackles and four dribbles. Andrea Barzagli, meanwhile, completed the most amount of passes with 74.

It was also a dynamic display from another new signing, Hernanes, who had three shots on target, more than any other player on the night.

Last but not least, Paulo Dybala’s goal was the first time he’d scored in consecutive matches since January.
