Massimiliano Allegri says he is happy with the approach shown by his men during this evening’s 1-1 draw at home to Chievo.

The manager admits there was anxiety to open the scoring this evening following back-to-back Serie A defeats but believes hard work and patience will set the Bianconeri back on the right track.

Speaking to the media at Juventus Stadium, he began: “I’ve got nothing to criticise the lads about, we’ve got plenty of time to bounce back.

“We approached the game following two defeats and there was the anxiety to score. We should have let them do the running and switch the play from one part of the pitch to the other, but our overall approach was good, and we fashioned at least five important goalscoring opportunities in the first half.”

With the Bianconeri’s first Champions League game of the season around the corner on Tuesday night, Allegri says he will remain focused on the positives as he prepares to lead his new-look side into Europe’s elite competition.

“We need to focus on the positives: this team has plenty of young players and these things take time. We knew that this season would be a lot tougher. We need to keep working because we’ve got our first Champions League game on Tuesday.”
