Massimiliano Allegri and Paul Pogba have been shortlisted for the FIFA World Coach of the Year and Ballon d’Or awards respectively.

After guiding Juventus to the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Champions League final in his first season in charge, Allegri has been selected by FIFA and France Football as one of the top ten coaches in the world.

Pogba, meanwhile, counts among the 23 players to be shortlisted for football’s most illustrious individual prize and is the only representative from Serie A.

His former midfield partner Vidal also makes the cut, the Chilean having added the Copa America to his title haul with Juventus this year.

Captains and managers of the national teams, as well as a panel of experts selected by France Football, will vote for the winners and the results will be announced in Zurich on 11 January 2016.

On 30 November, FIFA and the French sports magazine will whittle the list of players down to three each in the separate male and female categories, as well as choosing a trio of managers to stand for the final prize.

Also on that day, the finest goals of the year will be put forward for the annual FIFA Puskas Award.
