In a busy day of preparations, international stars of the present and of times gone by converged at Juventus Center today with three big fixtures in the Bianconeri calendar on the horizon.
To kick off the day’s activities, the Legends squads of Boca Juniors and then of the Old Lady took to the training pitches in Vinovo with tomorrow night’s UNESCO Cup at Juventus Stadium in the foreground.
Not long afterwards, it was time for Massimiliano Allegri’s present day Juventus to begin their own workout as they look ahead to Saturday’s Serie A encounter with Chievo and a first Champions League date of the season against Manchester City the following Tuesday.
Split into two groups, one half of the Bianconeri squad focused on attacking and defensive drills while the other turned its attentions to fitness work. The afternoon’s session saw the welcome return to the group of Claudio Marchisio, while fellow Sami Khedira was also back in Vinovo, continuing to follow his rehabilitation programme for an injury sustained last month.
Once Allegri’s charges complete tomorrow’s session, the spotlights will turn to Juventus Stadium at 20.45 CEST for the much-anticipated meeting between the Legends of Juventus and Boca Juniors for the second edition of the UNESCO Cup.
