With three days remaining until Juventus’ keenly-awaited match against Inter, Sami Khedira and Stefano Sturaro have affirmed that the club will play to win at the San Siro.

Speaking to Sky Sport, Khedira began: “We’re completely focused on Sunday. We know that it will be a difficult match, but we must take away a positive result and put in a great performance. We haven’t started so well, but in a way the league has become even more thrilling for us now and we’re up for the challenge.”

While acknowledging that the Nerazzurri have made a fine start to the campaign, the German midfielder was keen to underline the Bianconeri’s own strengths and their desire to climb back up the Serie A table, not letting next Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Borussia Monchengladbach get in the way of domestic preparations.

“Inter has begun the season well, but Juventus is a top side with excellent players. We’ve a strong midfield and possess considerable quality in all other areas: we’re in very good shape, we’re training well and we can’t wait to get out on the pitch.

“The Champions League is exciting, but right now we’re fully concentrated on the league, which is what matters at this moment in time: we’re eager to return to the upper reaches of the table.”

In an interview with JTV, fellow midfielder Sturaro echoed Khedira’s view of the importance in taking maximum points from Sunday’s contest, despite being only the eighth fixture of the campaign.

“The season is long and there’s still another 30 matches, but we’re focused on winning because it would be a big step for us in terms of gaining ground on our rivals.”
