His brilliant strike for 3-0 has already been earmarked for this season’s best goals playlist, but Juan Cuadrado was keen to focus on the bottom line of Sunday afternoon’s result after the Bianconeri saw off Palermo 4-0 at Juventus Stadium to boost their bid for a fifth successive Scudetto title.

“It was a tough match,” the Colombian began. “We didn’t play brilliantly in the first half but improved a lot in the second. The important thing, of course, is that we’ve got the victory.”

It is a triumph that sees the Bianconeri move nine points clear of second-placed Napoli with only five matches remaining, but the wing wizard urged his side not to rest on their laurels over the run-in.

“We just need to concentrate on ourselves. You never know in football. Look at how Barcelona’s lead in La Liga has been trimmed of late. We need to keep winning to make sure of lifting the end-of-season prize.”
