Netting crucial goals has become one of Juan Cuadrado’s trademarks since celebrating the winner in last October’s last-gasp win over Torino. After a decisive strike and deflected shot against Fiorentina and Genoa respectively, the Colombian winger was at it again this afternoon, tucking Alex Sandro’s cross past Nicola Leali to eventually break down Frosinone’s resistance in the 73rd minute of Sunday’s victory.

Speaking after the final whistle at the Stadio Matusa, Cuadrado commented: “I’m delighted with our performance today. Initially, there was plenty of excitement from the fans, who might have thought this was an easy match, but instead Frosinone played very well and put us under a great deal of pressure.

“They defended doggedly throughout, but in the end we managed to seal the win which is the most important thing.”

Next up for the Bianconeri is next Saturday’s mouthwatering contest at home to league leaders Napoli, a match which could have a huge say in who celebrates Scudetto success in May and one which Cuadrado stressed he and his team-mates would make sure they’d be fully ready for.

“We’ll prepare for next weekend’s match level-headedly. It will be essential for us to be at the very top of our game for an encounter of such importance.”
