With seven goals to his name in 11 outings at Juventus, Gonzalo Higuain has well and truly hit the ground running since arriving in Turin.
Today club channel Jtv took the opportunity to catch up with the Argentine striker on his first three months with the Bianconeri with the addition of two special questions asked by supporters on Juve’s official Twitter and Facebook profiles using the hashtag #AskHiguain.
Here are Pipita’s standout quotations from this afternoon’s interview.
Marathon not a sprint
“We’re going well, but there’s still a long way to go. I hope to keep the goals coming and do my part for the team.”
The standout strike?
“Honestly speaking, I like all of my goals, but my favourite so far has to be my second against Sassuolo.”
#AskHiguain: J-Stadium sentiments
“It’s an unbelievable feeling to hear the fans singing my name and I thank them all for the great reception they’ve given me in these few months since I joined. I absolutely love playing at Juventus Stadium.”
Paulo and Pipita
“I’ve a brilliant relationship with Paulo (Dybala). We often go to training sessions together and look to hang out as much as possible.”
“After a slow start, they’ve picked up the pace and are now just five points behind us. It’ll be a tough game.”
“I came across him twice last season without scoring. I’m hoping I can make it third time lucky this time around and win the match.”
#AskHiguain: Winning in Juve’s DNA
“From the outside you know that Juventus are the team to beat, having won five Scudetto titles on the trot. They’ve certainly been the most competitive team in the league since I arrived in Italy.
“Now that I’m here I can see how the club and all the players are working their socks off every day in order to win. Despite having lifted so much silverware in the past, we’re still very keen to continue tasting victory.”
Juan special goal in Lyon
“I spotted Dani Alves in space and thankfully Juan (Cuadrado) managed to score the goal that made sure of three extremely important points.”
Super Gigi Buffon
“Gigi is an unbelievable goalkeeper and he made some miraculous saves the other night. The whole world knows just what a great player he is. He’s a role model for us in every way.”
