Pjanic: “We know what we want to achieve”

Miralem Pjanic was without doubt one of the stand-out performers in Juventus’ 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night, opening the scoring with a smart effort before turning provider with a sumptuous pass for Gonzalo Higuain to make it 2-0.

“We have our feet on the ground but at the same time we know what we want,” said Pjanic after the game. “We have objectives we want to achieve and we’re focused on that. We want to keep winning. We’re happy with tonight’s win and with the way we got it.”

Pjanic explained that the side had changed things around after the Palermo win.

“The coach asked us to play the ball around more, fill the spaces and not get bogged down in midfield. We managed to do that and we created some great chances. We were in control all over the pitch.”

Such is the Bosnian’s versatility that many have questioned what his best position is in recent weeks, but Pjanic was keen to draw a line under the issue.

“People have been asking me what my favourite position is for ages. I’m willing to play wherever, whether that’s on the side, as a trequartista or in front of the defence.

“I like making the ball zip around and getting my team-mates playing and I can do that from an attacking position and in front of the defence, though you need to adjust your game in that area of the pitch. Having said that, it all depends on how the team is playing.”
