It was his clever reverse pass that paved the way for Paulo Dybala’s match winner, but Paul Pogba was keen to underline the merits of another strong team performance en route to Sunday’s win over Roma at Juventus Stadium.
Speaking straight after the final whistle, the Frenchman began: “We showed great mental strength tonight, as well as playing a good game from a technical perspective. In the end, the match was decided by a single move, but we did very well as a team. When we perform as we did tonight, it’s always very satisfying.”
Despite having won 11 games on the bounce in Serie A, the Bianconeri remain two points adrift of league-leaders Napoli and Pogba urged his team-mates to keep up their form in the second half of the campaign as they challenge for title honours.
“We need to continue playing with this kind of character, humility and determination to win. Napoli are going very well at present, but we’re just concentrating on ourselves for now, then we’ll see where that takes us.”
