Andrea Barzagli previews Sunday’s match against Sampdoria, Friday’s Champions League draw and more in his interview with Jtv

      Samp on song

“Sampdoria recently won the derby against Genoa and have been playing well of late. Whenever Juventus are in town, teams always give absolutely everything they’ve got.

“They’re able to play without pressure and we know just how tough a contest it will be. It’s a match of huge importance.”

      The key behind the BBC

“Our success primarily boils down to hard work. We enjoy the perfect relationship on the pitch, the kind of which is very rare in football.

“First of all we became friends off the field and then on it. The key to everything however has been the level of effort we consistently put in. Without that, you don’t achieve anything.”

Juve’s best team of the last 6 years?

“Without wanting to take anything away from the previous seasons, it’s possible that this is the best ever Juve team that I’ve played in, certainly in terms of quality.

“Then again, it’s important to consider the end result too. We’re in the hunt for all three trophies this term and we’re giving it a good go.

“In the Champions League, experience counts for a great deal and this is why it’s crucial that Juve keeps going as far as possible in the competition.”

UCL draw: who do you want to face?

“Tough question! It’s never easy facing one of the favourites at the quarter-final stage. I’d prefer not to come up against Bayern right now, as they’re in exceptional form.

“In any case, when you’re down to the final eight, any match is difficult, even if on paper some teams seem easier than others.”

      Bianconeri always aiming big

“The sixth straight Scudetto title is not something only I want, but the entire team and especially those who’ve been here since the start of our winning cycle in Serie A.

“As a footballer, winning the Champions League would naturally be the ultimate achievement. In football, it’s important to always be setting oneself new objectives and to never stop dreaming!”
