Kwadwo Asamoah slotted seamlessly into the left side of the Juventus back four on Sunday night, producing the most solid of performances to honour his 200th Serie A appearance.

With the Bianconeri preparing for an assault on all three competitions - Serie A, Champions League and Coppa Italia - in the second half of the season in the upcoming months, the Ghanaian's versatility and experience will surely be more valuable than ever.

With a pleasing 90 minutes of action against Bologna under his belt, Kwadwo spoke to Jtv this afternoon with another chance to shine on Wednesday night for the visit of Atalanta already just around the corner.

The midfielder's key quotes are as follows:

Ready for Atalanta

"Atalanta are enjoying a super start to the season and they have a core of talented Italian young players. Reaching the quarters at their expense won't be easy but our goal is to go all the way again this year so we will approach the tie with maximum focus."

Club and country

"Not joining up with the Ghana squad was a difficult call to make. Both the coach and the president of the FA called me on numerous occasions and I was keen to underline just how much I would have loved to have been there in Gabon.

"But after the injuries I have suffered in the past couple of years, my primary focus now is working hard here and playing as often as I can. I'm pleased to be staying here so I can continue training and be ready for my team when required."

Unstoppable Juve, on and off the field

"We can't stress the importance of the fans enough: their passion always gives us a lift when we need them most. The strongest team I've ever played in? Juventus always boast an excellent squad. Ever since I arrived here I have been part of a fantastic group of players, both on and off the field.

"My position on Sunday? I have played at full-back a few times, even at the World Cup for the national team. Luckily, I'm comfortable in most roles across midfield. It was a great win (over Bologna on Sunday) and the perfect way to start the new year."
