Mattia De Sciglio sees Friday's win against Napoli as a platform the Bianconeri can build on as they head into a crunch Champions League clash with Olympiacos in midweek.

The full-back was speaking in an exclusive interview with Juventus TV, during which he also discussed his acclimatisation to the Juventus set-up since joining the club in the summer.

POSITIVE SPELL

“I'm happy with the way things are going but I have to build on this and keep improving day by day. My team-mates and the club have helped me so much over the last few months. They've kept on reiterating their confidence in me and that's helped me to stay calm and increased my self-belief.”

THE MORNING AFTER SAN PAOLO

“The Napoli game was important for us and it's a tough place to claim three points, especially given the fierce rivalry there is between Napoli and Juve.

“We produced a solid defensive display and that's key because clean sheets boost your confidence going into the next game. We all worked hard for each other last night and stayed nice and tight as a unit. That made everything easier in a way.

“We have some more head-to-head matches coming up and we have to carry on playing as a team, just as we did last night.”

PIPITA RULES

“You don't need any words to describe Gonzalo [Higuain] – his career speaks for itself. He's one of those players who does his talking on the pitch and leads by example.”

SERIE A AND CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

“Our aim is to win a seventh straight Scudetto and I think yesterday was a show of strength from us. It's a tough league this year – even more so than usual because the other teams have strengthened. We have to give 110% all the time, which is what we did in Naples.

“Now we have the Champions League on Tuesday and we must book our place in the last 16. Our minds are on Athens and Napoli is already in the past, but we'll need to play with the same attitude and make the most of the chances we get.

“Score my first Champions League goal? If an opportunity comes my way, I'll certainly give it a go...”
