“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome home!”: this is how Andrea Agnelli addressed Bianconeri fans back on 8 September 2011 for the opening ceremony of what would become a true Juventus fortress and venue for legendary title wins, one after the other throughout its six-year existence to date.
A state-of-the-art stadium, an arena for entertainment and, most importantly of all, victory:
The Bianconeri have won 125 of their 157 matches at Allianz Stadium (almost 80%), scoring 338 goals in the process.
This is where Juventus managed to win for an entire campaign (2013/14), where they set the record for fewest goals conceded in a single Serie A season (six in 2015/16), where they strung together an extraordinary 33 consecutive victories (between October 2015 and April 2017) – an all-time high in the history of Italian football’s top tier.
Most of all, however, Allianz Stadium has become the place where anyone to walk through its gates can breathe in everything that Juventus represents: a team that fights for every ball without giving up an inch, that side by side and backed by its 12th man in the stands, has made history, created legend, and is ready to write the next chapters of a bright Bianconeri future.
Happy birthday, Allianz Stadium!
