In less than 18 months at Juventus, Gonzalo Higuain has already earned a cult status among supporters for his sterling performances in the black and white stripes.
They say that scoring goals is the most difficult aspect of the game, but for Pipita it is part and parcel of his footballing DNA.
The Argentine forward has celebrated 43 goals across all competitions with the Bianconeri, each one more important than the last. After some crucial strikes in his debut season – not least braces in the Turin derby and semi-finals of the Coppa Italia against Napoli and Champions League against Monaco – Gonzalo has kept up his habit of netting when it matters, striking twice at the San Siro against Milan, an all-important equaliser away to Sporting Lisbon and a breath-taking match winner against former club, Napoli. The list could go on.
Pipita followed up his goalscoring prowess with silverware last term, laying his hands on the Scudetto and Coppa Italia, and supporters will be hoping he plays a key role in the Bianconeri’s bid for titles once again this campaign.
Having already won a place in the hearts of the Juventus family, the entire club wishes Gonzalo many happy returns for his 30th birthday.
