Juventus Women go top after beating Brescia!

Juventus Women are the new leaders of the Serie A table after defeating Brescia 4-0 away at the Club Azzurri Brescia stadium. Three goals in the first-half from Lisa Boattin, Sanni Franssi and Aurora Galli put the visitors in control at the break. The result was rounded off in the second half, after Barbara Bonansea made it 4-0 early on and Juventus Women cruised to victory and the top of the championship.

The Bianconere started the match on the front foot, with Bonansea hitting the crossbar after just 12 minutes of play. Juventus were then handed a penalty in the 24th minute, after a handball in the box from a cross by Katie Zelem. Lisa Boattin stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to put Juve in front. Just four minutes later and it was 2-0, Sanni Franssi played a one-two with Bonansea and slotted past the Brescia goalkeeper to double Juve’s advantage.

The visitors then went into the half-time period three goals to the good, after a smart centre from Bonansea found Galli in space in the box, the midfielder took a touch, spun on the ball and unleashed a strike into the back of the net. Into the second half, and the Bianconere didn’t take long to put the game to bed. Bonansea turned from provider to goalscorer, as she met Franssi’s cross from the right to strike at goal and make it 4-0 and the result safe.

Juventus Women now lead the summit of the Serie A table by three points, ahead of Brescia. Next up is the visit of last season’s champions, Fiorentina on Friday 8 December at Vinovo.
