Rita Guarino’s girls will head into the holidays as the Serie A leaders, after seeing off Ravenna Woman by five goals to nil in their final league match of the year. The result caps an unbeaten start to Juventus Women’s first ever season, as the girls have remarkably won every single match played to date.

A first-half goal from Glionna after 19 minutes set Juventus Woman on their way. The Italian forward latched onto a forward pass from Martina Rosucci, and then placed an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper from the left-hand side of the box, to give Juve a 1-0 half-time lead on a cold afternoon in Ravenna.

Juventus Women came flying out of the blocks in the second half, and Juve doubled their lead on the 57th minute through a strike from Bonansea. She nearly got onto the scoresheet again just three minutes later, as she made the most of Franssi’s roll back to force a strong save out of the opposition goalkeeper. Bonansea wasn’t done there however, as just eight minutes later she did manage to score her second of the match, and Juve’s third, with a precise angled drive from the right.

10 minutes from time, and a through ball to Franssi was seized upon by the Finnish striker, who took it around the goalkeeper and put the ball into an empty net to make it four to the Bianconere.

The cherry on the cake came through second half substitute, Katie Zelem. The Oldham-born midfielder, scored shortly after her introduction, after cutting inside and shooting the ball from the right and into the back of the net to make it 5-0.

Juventus Women now end the year in first place, and will have some time to recharge their batteries, before welcoming Fimauto Valpolicella to Vivono in January.
