Positive early impressions

“It’s amazing to see the Stadium almost full like that for a Coppa Italia match, but this is Juventus after all. I feel great here, my colleagues have given me a very warm welcome. They’re all winners and true professionals.

“When you arrive in Vinovo, you instantly realise that you have to work hard in order to meet this club’s objectives. There are some tough characters around here who know what it means to knuckle down and how best to approach matches.”

Analysing Atalanta match

“We played a good game and have reached the next round. Atalanta pushed us hard right until the end, they’re a side in form and they put in a great second-half showing. The most important thing was to win and qualify for the quarter-finals, but it’s true that in future we need to be at the races for the entire 90 minutes in order to avoid taking too many risks.”

Adapting to Allegri’s ways

“I’m working hard to adapt as best as possible to the boss’ style of play. Yesterday was my first game in the starting XI, we got the job done in the end, but personally I know that I can give more.

“Until now I’ve played in a more advanced role in midfield, while in training I’ve been sitting more often in front of the defence. We’re working all the time to keep improving.”

Next up: Fiorentina

“Sunday’s match away to Fiorentina will be tough and we need to approach it extremely seriously as is always the case for Juventus. They’re a well-organised team and full of technically skilled players. We’ll have to focus on our own game, however, as we look to secure a positive result.”

Impressed with Paulo

“With Paulo (Dybala) you need only watch him in training to realise just what a great player he is. He has unbelievable technique and even has a lot of room for improvement still. I hope for his sake that he can keep growing and growing.”

Winning the bottom line

“The first thing that struck me at Juventus is just how important it is to win, preferably by playing well, but even when we’re not firing on all cylinders we need to make sure of the points. This is the overriding philosophy here. Everyday we’re thinking only about how to win.”
