The Primavera headed into Wednesday's UYL match against Barcelona on the back of consecutive wins over Fiorentina and Milan, but they couldn't secure a result on this day against Barcelona falling 1-0 to the Catalans. The loss eliminates Dal Canto's side from advancing to the next round of the UEFA Youth League.
As expected, Barcelona held the majority of possession in the first half, but the Bianconeri held strong creating chances on the counteratttack. Both sides would earn opportunities, but the match went to halftime tied 0-0.
However, the Catalans would take the lead on 50 minutes as Puig slipped behind the Juve defense to slot home the only goal of the match. Juve would have chances late, but could not carve out the golden opportunity falling 1-0 to Barcelona at Vinovo.
The Primavera will play one more match in the UEFA Youth League away to Olympiakos in two week's time.
