2 March 2003.

It's Serie A Matchday 23 and at 20:30 CET, Juventus and Inter take to the field at the Stadio Delle Alpi. It's a very important game in the title race, with both sides at the top of the table on 48 points each.

Juventus make an aggressive start and go in front after just four minutes of play. A foul by Guglielminpietro hands Juve a free-kick out on the left and Pavel Nedved whips a dangerous ball into the box that Inter keeper, Francesco Toldo gets a hand to and knocks onto the back of Guglielminpietro, with the ball diverting into the back of the net to put Juve ahead 1-0.

The game is intense and Juve plays very well, going close to adding to their lead on a couple of occasions with David Trezeguet and Marco Di Vaio. Whilst at the other end, Inter try to respond through Christian Vieri and Gabriel Batistuta on all. Juve's next clear-cut chance comes after 30 minutes, Mauro Camoranesi shoots from outside the area just over.

Then, in the last quarter of an hour of the first half, Pavel Nedved gets the ball in space on the right-hand side field, receiving a pass from Lilian Thuram, and then shoots at goal from distance, beating Toldo in the Nerazzurri goal with a daisy-cutter to double Juve's advantage.

In the second half, Juventus continues to keep their foot on the gas, creating even more chances but to no avail.

Finally, the knockout blow arrives in the 83rd minute. Once again Nedved is decisive, as his run down the left sees him put a ball into the centre that Camoranesi manages to get onto and the slots the ball in to make it 3-0!

The Stadio Delle Alpi is in delirium, Juventus are now clear leaders.
