A double from Barbara Bonansea led the Juventus Women to a comprehensive 4-1 win over Pink Bari at a rainy Ale&Ricky Pitch in Vinovo on Saturday afternoon.

Playing at home for the first time in a month, the Juventus Women took some time to get going against a physical Pink Bari side. In the 9th minute, Barbara Bonansea found Aurora Galli on a short corner and the midfielder fired just wide from 20 yards out.

The rest of the half was a hard-fought affair and just as it looked like the squads would go into half-time level, Juventus Women found the breakthrough.

After a strong run down the left wing, Lisa Boattin sent in a cross destined for Bonansea, but before the forward could finish, the ball was turned into the Pink Bari net for an own goal seconds before the half-time whistle.

In the second half, it wouldn’t take long for Rita Guarino’s side to double their advantage. In the 56th minute, Bonansea took a ball over the top and chipped on-rushing Pink Bari goalkeeper Roberta Aprile to double the Juventus Women advantage with her 12th Serie A goal of the season.

Soon after, the match would be put out of reach as Tuija Hyyrynen sent in a looping cross that was turned into their own net by Erika Santoro for the second Pink Bari own goal of the match making it 3-0 Juventus Women in the 67th minute.

The visitors would pull a goal back in the 74th minute as substitute Michela Franco was whistled for a handball in the area giving a penalty kick to Pink Bari. Jenny Piro scored form the spot in the 74th minute in the first-ever goal scored at the Ale&Ricky Pitch by an opponent against Juventus Women.

Bonansea wasn’t done with her goalscoring on the day, however, as in the 79th minute she danced through the Pink Bari defense before scoring from close range. It was her second goal of the match and 13th of the season rounding out the scoreline with a 4-1 victory for Juventus Women.

The 16th win from 16 league matches keeps the Bianconere at the top of Serie A by three points over Brescia with six matches left in the inaugural season.

Next up for Juventus Women is a Coppa Italia round of 16 match against Novese on Wednesday in Novi Ligure at 19.00 while the next Serie A match is away to Sassuolo on Saturday, 24 March at 15.00
