Alex Sandro: Focused on Derby Day

"We must always keep our focus for Serie A, like we do in Champions League," said Alex Sandro today speaking to the Sky and Mediaset microphones ahead of Sunday's Derby della Mole.

STAYING POSITIVE

"We are ready. We arrive at the Derby with a positive spirit after good work this week," explained the Juventus number 12. "The draw with Tottenham was not a negative result. We played a great game, as did our opponents. In the Champions League, the challenges are always difficult but we're going to London with the intention of winning and we know we can."

DERBY DAY

In the first match against Torino, Alex Sandro found the back of the net with a bullet header keeping alive the streak of Juventus always winning when Alex Sandro scores.

"I don't usually score headers but this time I did and it was great. I went to the near post as I usually do in training and got a good connection. I'd like to keep scoring and even find the back of the net for the first time in Champions League!"

"Torino will pressure us as they are a strong team physically with good individuals like Niang, Iago Falque and Rincon. I always had an excellent relationship with Tomas. We still live in the same building and talk plenty, even if maybe these days it's better to stay apart...(laughs)."

GONZALO & PIPITA

In the last derby, Gonzalo Higuain had a huge influence on the match while Dybala has also returned to training. "Gonzalo is an extraordinary player who could score one, two or three goals at any time. In addition, having Paulo back is very important and means we can raise our level of quality that much more."

THINKING ONLY OF JUVENTUS

It's been a season of growth for Alex Sandro who is peaking at the right time. "It's normal for a player to have ups and downs but I never listened to any rumors about me. I've always been focused on my work and my only thought is of Juventus who I have two years left on my contract with. I feel really good and I'm satisfied with my condition today."
