The Bianconeri made history in Rome after winning their fourth consecutive Coppa Italia, with four second-half goals in the space of 20 minutes proving too much for Milan.
With the pre-match storm letting up right at kick-off, it was a perfect night in the capital for a cup final. Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Patrick Cutrone combined to nearly put Milan up after eight minutes with some neat one-two work, but Gianluigi Buffon stood strong to deny Cutrone’s rasping effort from ten yards out.
Juve would then begin to gain control of the match, with Mario Mandzukic going closest for the Bianconeri, but his 36th-minute header from Juan Cuadrado’s cross was straight at Gianluigi Donnarumma.
