Top of the Serie A table and through to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. Juventus Women recorded their latest win of an excellent inaugural season on Wednesday night by hammering Novese 8-0 at the Stadio Costante Girardengo.

This was a match that the Bianconere dominated from start to finish, and they created a number of chances before breaking the deadlock in the 27th minute: Michela Franco rose highest at a corner to head in her first ever goal for the club.

Novese managed to keep the scoreline at 1-0 up until half-time, but they could not stop the floodgates from well and truly opening in the second period, as Arianna Caruso scored an eye-catching hat-trick and Katie Rood burst the net with a brilliant goal of her own all between the 48th and 65th minutes.

Making her Juventus Women debut, Carlotta Masu joined the party with a superb strike from 25 meters, before Katie Zelem converted a pinpoint free-kick from inside the box.

With three minutes remaining, Rood scored her second and the Bianconere’s eighth goal of the night, rubberstamping a landslide victory for Rita Guarino’s team, who will now face Brescia in the next round.

Up next for Juventus Women in Serie A, meanwhile, is a trip to Sassuolo this Sunday at 15.00 CEST, where victory would mathematically qualify them for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
