The Bianconere ensured that the Scudetto will be decided by a play-off against fellow leaders Brescia by claiming a 4-0 win against Tavagnacco, with Brescia also winning their match away at Verona 6-3.

Juventus Women were ahead at the break when Sofia Cantore tapped home Cecilia Salvai’s centre from a corner, then substitute Bonansea scored twice in the second period a couple of cool finishes, before Valentia Cernoia rounded things off with a goal outside the box.

Juventus Women started brightly against Tavagnacco, despite losing goalkeeper Laura Giuliani early on to injury. The Bianconere were a goal to the good after 14 minutes of play when Tuija Hyyrynen’s corner was headed back across goal by Cecilia Salvai and Sofia Cantore tapped in on the stretch to make it 1-0, as Juve held the advantage going into the break

Tavagnacco responded early in the second half with Kaja Erzen testing substitute Federico Russo in the Juventus goal with a fierce shot, but the keeper was equal to it to make the save. The second goal eventually came in the 63rd minute through second half substitute, Barbara Bonansea. The Italian forward pounced on a turnover in midfield to go through on goal and made no mistake with her finish.

Cantore nearly made it three in the 74th minute after some great work from Bonansea down the left saw her pick out the number 14 with a centre but her shot struck the post and stayed out. The lively pair combined again and a one-two sent Bonansea baring down on goal once more, and yet again the result was another goal for Juventus Women to make it three.

The cherry on the cake came only a minute later when Cernoia gathered the ball from outside the box and struck from distance to make it 4-0.

Juventus Women will play a play-off match against Brescia to decide the Serie A title, with further details to be announced in due course.
