THE SEASON KICKS OFF!

After the summer preparation, the season begins with the first official commitment: the Italian Supercup final in Rome with Lazio.

Lazio take a 2-0 lead over La Vecchia Signora, but an outstanding late double from the new number 10, Paulo Dybala in the 85th and 91st minute sees Juve fight back to 2-2. However, in the dying embers Alessandro Murgia scores to make it 3-2 and send the Supercup to Lazio.

Massimiliano Allegri then took to Twitter to state that the defeat would serve a purpose in helping Juve work towards having a great season, and how right he would turn out to be:

Days before Serie A got underway, there was of course the traditional curtain raiser at Villar Perosa:

The season begins at home to Cagliari, and the Bianconeri start as they mean to go on with a 3-0 win, as Mandzukic, Dybala and Higuain get the Biaconeri up and running!

A good start at home was followed-up with a win in the first away game of the year at Genoa. Despite the hosts taking an early 2-0 lead, Juve fire back in style through Juan Cuadrado and a first-ever Juve hat-trick from Paulo Dybala!

Massimiliano Allegri completes his midfield with the signing of Blaise Matuidi from PSG:

And in defence, Benedikt Howedes

The arrival of Howedes closes a very intense August, as September sees Juve begin their Champions League campaign and continue on their course of the league title...
