The 2018 edition of Artissima was officially inaugurated at the Oval Lingotto on Thursday – but this year’s event is extra special.
For the very first time, Juventus have teamed up with Artissima to create Artissima Junior, a special initiative dedicated to children visiting the event. Artissima is organised by ZonArte, the network bringing together the education departments of the leading contemporary art institutions in Piedmont, with support from the CRT Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art in Turin.
Starting today, Artissima Junior enables children to contribute to the creation of a special art installation: Il Giardino [The Garden]. The hope is that the installation will help the children to understand the extent to which contemporary art can transform their day-to-day lives and indeed the world we all live in. On Thursday, over 80 Junior Members – led by Argentine artist Alek O. – began to assemble the installation, which will be completed over the coming days by children between the ages of six and 11.
