The World Cup semi-finals kicked off last night in Saint Petersburg as European neighbors France and Belgium faced off in an epic 90 minutes.

Blaise Matuidi, suspended for the quarter-final, was back in the starting XI for Les Bleus on Tuesday night and put in 86 hard minutes in midfield as Laurent Blanc's side won 1-0 courtesy of a Samuel Umtiti 51st minute header off a corner kick.

It's the third FIFA World Cup Final for France which have now all come in the last six editions of the tournament.

Matuidi and France will await the winner of tonight's matchup as Mario Mandzukic and Marko Pjaca's Croatia face England tonight at 20.00 in the Luzhniki Stadium as Croatia looks to make their first-ever World Cup Final while England looks to make the showpiece match for the first time since 1966.
