After kicking off their Copa America campaign with an impressive 4-0 win over Ecaudor, Uruguay were held by guest side, Japan last night in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Arena do Gremio.

Japan took the lead in the 25th minute through Koji Miyoshi, before a Luis Suarez penalty evened the scores before half-time. Japan again went ahead in the second half with winger Miyoshi scoring once more, before Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez earned a point for Uruguay to finish the match at 2-2. Both Rodrigo Bentancur and Martin Caceres played the full match for Oscar Tabarez' men, who will next face Chile, with a point guaranteeing them qualification into the next round.

The Bianconeri's international players will next be in action tomorrow night, when Alex Sandro's Brazil face Peru in their final Copa America group game, and Moise Kean's Italy U21s take on their Belgian counterparts in their last group match in the U21 Euros.
