It’s Wojciech Szczęsny’s special day, and he will be celebrating it with his teammates and friends, as he looks to prepare for Saturday’s match against Fiorentina.
‘Tek’ will begin his day by undergoing training at Juventus’ Continassa, where he will be getting prepped alongside his colleagues to host the Tuscan side in a match which could potentially see Juventus crowned Serie A champions for an eighth successive season, before then being able to spend it with those closest to him.
It was never in question, but Szczesny has truly asserted himself as Juventus’ number one shot-stopper this season, taking over from the highly loved Gianluigi Buffon. His reflex saves, aerial strength, agility and his ability to command his backline, has seen him oversee 11 clean sheets in 23 Serie A appearances this season, while he also played an instrumental role in Juventus lifting the Italian Super Cup this season in Jeddah.
Of course, that is not the only thing that the Pole offers. He’s the hilarious joker off the field, creating a fun and light-hearted atmosphere that is unique to him, but when the time comes, he knows exactly how to switch on his game face and become an immediate leader on the pitch – a quality trait that only resides in the heart of champions.
In his two years at Juventus, Tek has won a Scudetto, a Coppa Italia and, of course, the Italian Super Cup.
Everyone at Juventus, and Bianconeri fans from around the world, would like to wish him a Happy Birthday! Many happy returns!
