Paulo Dybala came on as a substitute to decide the fixture between the two teams

Juventus continued with their unbeaten run in Serie A by claiming a 1-0 win over Milan at Allianz Stadium on Sunday evening. Dybala scored the only goal of the game as he bagged his seventh goal against the Rossoneri and secured all three points for the Old Lady.

After the victory in the Derby della Mole last weekend, the Bianconeri were looking to go into the international break with one final win under their belt, and what better way to do it against their long-time rivals, Milan?

      QUIET AND GOALLESS FIRST HALF

The first chance of the game fell to the Bianconeri with 14 minutes on the clock when Ronaldo delivered the ball into the box, Higuain then tried to shoot at the near post, but Donnarumma fumbled it out for a corner with his feet. Milan then responded with a threat of their own two minutes later when Bennacer sent forward a long ball into the cross, which saw Piatek nod it just of the goal frame. Szczesny was called into action in the 24th minute when Conti knocked the ball back into the box for Paqueta, who sent a looping header towards goal, but it was brilliantly denied at the top right corner by a fingertip save. Bernardeschi worked his way from the flank and cut into the centre, before unleashing a shot from the inside of the D that went high of the goal. The half concluded with a shot on each end of the park: Ronaldo struck from distance, but it flew straight at Donnarumma, while Theo Hernandez smacked a low drive which saw Szczesny drop down and push it out of danger.

      DYBALA TAKES IT!

Juventus threatened at goal first after the break and it was through Matuidi, who struck a curling effort that glanced past the far post. Maurizio Sarri then introduced Paulo Dybala into the game in the 55th minute in place of Ronaldo, while Higuain connected onto the end of Bentancur’s effort and turned it into the side netting. As the game drew on, tensions rose, and some scrappy challenges were being put in. On the stroke of the hour mark, Douglas Costa was then brought on and he was immediately a threat when he laid the ball off for Matuidi, who saw his powerful shot skim over the face of goal. Matuidi needed to be replaced in the 70th minute due to an injury, seeing Rabiot take his place. The Rossoneri’s first real chance of the second half came when Calhanoglu’s free-kick forced Szczesny to palm away his effort, but it would be the Bianconeri who would take the lead in the 77th minute of the game and it was through none other than Dybala. The Argentine scored his seventh goal against Milan when he got onto the end of Higuain’s assist, cut through Romagnoli and sliced it into the back of the net to make it 1-0. Calhanoglu tried to respond with an equalizer of his own when he struck from 20-yards, but Szczesny did well to round it past his post. In the final seconds of the game Dybala came close to doubling the lead but was denied by the hand of Donnarumma.
