The midfielder, who was instrumental in France’s World Cup triumph last year, took to the field of Stade de France on Monday evening for a full 90 minutes against Iceland.

It was one-way traffic for he and his teammates, as they made it back-to-back wins in the Euro 2020 Qualifiers, by recording a 4-0 victory on home soil.

Samuel Umtiti broke the deadlock in the 12th minute to send the World champions into the break with a narrow lead, but it was in the second half where they came out with guns blazing as Giroud, Mbappe and Griezmann all got on the scoresheet between the 68th and 84th minute.

Elsewhere in Europe, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Cancelo lined-up for Portugal in their 1-1 draw to Serbia. Cancelo featured for the full 90 minutes, while CR7 was taken off after 30 minutes due to injury.

Across in China, Martin Caceres and Rodrigo Bentancur were crowned China Cup champions after Uruguay brushed aside Thailand 4-0 in the final. Caceres started for his country, while Bentancur was an unused substitute.

Tonight, Italy will return to action against Lichtenstein where Mattia Perin, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Moise Kean, Leonardo Spinazzola and Federico Bernardeschi will all hope to be in action.

Miralem Pjanic will also be in action for Bosnia against Greece, Paulo Dybala will feature for Argentina against Morocco (he was named in the starting XI), and Alex Sandro’s Brazil will come up against Czech Republic.

Good luck, Bianconeri!
