Earlier in the week, the Bianconero striker was handed his second call-up to the Italian National Team first team squad, following his excellent exploits against Udinese two weeks ago.

Roberto Mancini showed him instant faith by introducing him immediately into the starting XI, alongside fellow club colleagues Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Federico Bernardeschi (who wore the No.10 jersey), and Leonardo Spinazzola (who came on as a substitute), and the 19-year-old repaid the trust shown in him by scoring a second-half goal to secure a 2-0 victory in their Euro 2020 Qualifiers.

Moise Kean’s strike made him the second youngest goalscorer to score for Gli Azzurri, while helping Italy maintain their unbeaten run at home in the 21st century (ie: since he was born).

Elsewhere, Miralem Pjanic’s Bosnia got their Euro Qualifiers underway in good stead, as his 90-minute appearance helped them notch up a 2-1 victory over Armenia. While Alex Sandro remained an unused substitute in Brazil’s 1-1 draw to Panama.

Tonight, Wojciech Szczesny will return to action against Latvia for Poland.
