With 6.5 million inhabitantst, Riyadh is the capital and the largest city in Saudi Arabia. it is located on the great plateau of Najd and is surrounded by the desert.
The main street, Re Fahd, is at the beating heart of a city of modern design, developed a lot especially in recent years. For shopping, there is an embarrassment of choice, since there are numerous and vast shopping centers, as well as restaurants and luxury hotels, some located within skyscrapers that offer impressive views.
On a cultural level, there is no shortage of things to see. The National Museum stands out: having opened in 1999, it will take you into the Arab world through different historical period. The fortress of Masmak, one of the oldest forts in Riyadh, is characterized by some tall towers that once served to guard the city.
What to eat? The cuisine of Saudi Arabia is made up mainly of elaborate and spicy dishes: the main one is kabsa based on meat, rice and numerous vegetables.
THE STADIUM: KING SAUD UNIVERSITY
The location where the Italian Super Cup will be played is the King Saud University Stadium. It has a capacity of 25 thousand seats, and is very modern having been inaugurated in 2015. The stadium hosts Al-Hilal Club, the most successful team in the history in the Saudi league with 15 titles. They last won in the 2018.
