On many occasions, Sampdoria-Juventus was a match played on the last day of the season. An occasion, sometimes, celebrated by lifting the Scudetto.

1949-50 0-4

The Scudetto is already won by Juventus and it is the first title after World War II, The Bianconeri overwhelm their opponents with an opening goal from Muccinelli at the end of the first half. Boniperti ends the game with a hat-trick scored in just six minutes and with the four goals, Juventus close the league scoring 100 in total.

1968-69 1-1

This fixture is worth more for the hosts who needed a single point to stay in the top division. The Bianconeri ddin't have much to play for in a league that sees them finish in fifth place. 1-1 is the final result: The goal for Sampdoria comes by way of Leoncini. This match ended with the experience of Heriberto Herrera who scored for Juventus who at the time had been with the club for five years and a won a league title in 1966-67.

1976-77 0-2

It was the most dramatic and exciting match amongst all those played at Marassi. Juve went into the match strong, thanks to the historic victory in the UEFA Cup, which was obtained just four days before. Sampdoria needed a positive result to save themselves from relegation. At the kick-off whistle, the Bianconeri were all over Sampdoria like a rash. Coming out of the interval, Genoa fought back but it was not enough. A fabulous effort from Bettega and a another from Boninsegna determined the 0-2 final which gave the Old Lady the 51-point league title. It was Juventus’ 17th. The hosts were condemned to relegation.

2007-08 3-3

Mazzarri against Ranieri: today it would be Turin against Rome but at that time it was Sampdoria againt Juventus. A classic end-of-season finale without tensions ends 3-3. The main interest of the match was the race for the title of top scorer. Del Piero scored twice and Trezeguet scored a penalty. The top scorer list ended as follows:

  1. Alex with 21 goals
  1. David with 20 goals

2012-13 3-2

A painless defeat came at the end of the 2012-13 season. The reason is simple: Juventus are already Italian Champions. The test against Genoa is little more than a formality. Quagliarella opened the scoring but Sampdoria equalised with Eder from the penalty spot. De Silvestri and Icardi also score. The last goal of the league belonged to Giaccherini. Juve closed with 87 points, the opponents with 42, finishing in 14th position. A good placement considering that they were a newly promoted team in Serie A.
