The Head Coach and midfielder addressed the media ahead of tomorrow evening’s fixture against Bayer Levekusen, and with top spot already secured in the group, they spoke about the need to still claim three points in the ultimate group stage outing.

Here is what they had to say:

“The boys are professional, and they give full cooperation. Sometimes you can do everything you want and sometimes it can turn out not as we would like. Tomorrow, we will see how we set up on the pitch. We have two midfielders. Rabiot can be at ease on the right and we have to see how he does after a long period of inactivity. We are calm, we know where we need to improve. And we are doing it: triggering a 'spark' depends on many factors, such as dribbling at the right times and keeping possession at the right speed. Otherwise, it is sterile. For tomorrow's game, I ask of the team that their motivation and mentality must never fall, especially in this type of challenge. There are no games that don't make sense: I want to see high levels of motivation and good performances. Playing in the Champions League is a privilege. Rabiot is coming back from an injury. We rely heavily on him. He has a high-level of potential. He just needs to regain his physical condition. Tomorrow he will play a part of the match. The game that I remember most from the European competitions? Winning the Europa League. I hope there are other good memories. The trident in attack? It is only partly an experiment. We have already tried it. We can only play this squad in certain situations and we'll see tomorrow. Blaise Matuidi’s booking does not have that much of an affect.”

“We prepare match after match; we want to win tomorrow to prepare for the league better. Bayer Leverkusen is a good team and it won't be easy, but we are prepared. We always want to win, but it happens at times where we can’t secure the three points, even if it shouldn't. We have had a good journey up until now. We cannot be negative; we need to find balance. It is not easy to always be brilliant. We have spoken as a team and hopefully, we will see the results on the pitch. We trust Sarri. We are a united team. The results were good, but the manager requires more: we still have a lot of potential to express. We want to win the League and we have to do more.”
