Mister Sarri addressed the media for his first Serie A press conference, and he covered an array of topics starting with his return to health to the condition of the team.

“It wasn't easy to stay out. I thank the doctors who treated me, and they made me realise that I had to take a small step back. But I was very calm because the technical staff did a great job,” said the coach. To return to the bench in Florence, a short distance from my home, makes me very happy.

"Now I'm just thinking about the league, our focus must be on tomorrow. We are at a stage where rotating is difficult, because we are finding our identity and our structure. We have to change the way we handle certain moments of the game, making more ball possession and not waiting for opponents on the edge of the penalty area.”

THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE LIST

"It wasn't easy or rewarding to make the picks for the list, but it was a necessary thing: I'm sorry, because two very important players were left out. These difficulties, however, demonstrate the great strength of our team. It is normal that when a player undergoes a strong and impactful choice there is an emotional aspect: you have to give him the opportunity to 'throw out' what he feels. I'm old enough to understand the reactions.”

WORK ETHIC

“We have a lot of players who have had little time on the field in the last few months, Sami Khedira, Aaron Ramsey and Rabiot. But I have to say one thing: never in my career have I seen the team work so hard during the international break. Higuain has played because of what he's shown me in training and in games he has brought results”

RAMSEY’S INJURY

“I have strong feelings about Bentancur: I think he can become a really important player. Aaron Ramsey arrived here on the back of a serious injury. Up until 10 days ago he was behind in the physical aspect, then I saw huge strides forward.”

ON JUVENTUS

“I have always said that Juventus is the strongest team, even from a corporate point of view. In recent months I have realised that the strength of Juve: in the organization, in the mentality, and in projecting towards the next game.”

THOUGHTS ON NAPOLI

“Against Napoli we waited too long, and we managed some phases with superficiality. Besides, we're not at the top physically yet.”

DEFENSIVE SET-UP“The loss Chiellini of has been heavy for us. Now my goal is to fully recover Daniele Rugani and get Matthijs de Ligt to adapt as quickly as possible to Italian football. In a few months, he will do important things.”
