The Bianconeri, who had gone throughout the season unbeaten, arrived in the penultimate match day of the season with only a one-point advantage over Milan, by virtue of a home draw the previous week against Lecce.
Milan, instead, were held to a draw in the Derby della Madonnina.
Juve, then travelled away to take on Cagliari, but not in Sardinia, however… It was on a neutral ground at Nereo Rocco in Trieste, where a win meant a Scudetto victory – the first of a series of eight #W8NDERFUL triumphant acts.
