It was an unfavourable Saturday for the Bianconeri in international action. Firstly, the afternoon's Women's World Cup match between Italy and Holland saw the Azzurre's dream ended, following a 2-0 defeat, after second half goals from Vivianne Miedema and Stefanie Van der Gragt.

However, it's a loss that doesn't take anything away from the fantastic performance Italy put in, amongst them eight Bianconere, to reach this stage of the competition.

Elsewhere, in the evening, Uruguay succumbed to a 5-4 defeat on penalties to Peru in their Copa America quarter-final. Rodrigo Bentancur and Martin Caceres both played the full 90 minutes plus extra-time, as neither team could be separated. Barcelona's Luis Suarez missed the first spot kick for Uruguay, which would go on to be decisive, with Peru staying perfect to book their spot in the semi-finals.
