Only one Bianconero got the run out on Sunday night in what ended up being a routine victory for the Poland. It was more of a subtle first half of football as the match was riddled with more defensive type play rather that the opposite.

The second half was much of the same for both the Latvians and the home side. Tackles and challenges came in from all directions as the match witnessed five yellow cards (two to Poland, three to Latvia) before the audience was blessed with a goal.

In fact, it wasn’t until late in the match at the 76’ mark where of course, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski hit the back of the net off an assist from Atalanta midfielder, Arkadiusz Reca who played a beautiful ball allowing Lewandowski to open the scoring.

Less than 10 minutes later, Kamil Glik of AS Monaco sealed the deal to make it an end result of 2-0 to Poland.

It was a dominant display from our keeper as Wojciech Szczesny saved all six of Latvia’s shots on target. The win against Latvia wraps up two wins out of two for the Polish who earned a clean sweep in March’s international fixtures.

Next up today, Blaise Matuidi, Joao Cancelo and Cristiano Ronaldo will all be in action as France take on Iceland after their 4-1 victory over Moldova on Friday. Portugal only managed a 0-0 draw in their last fixture against Ukraine and will be aiming for victory against Serbia this time out.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Martin Caceres also play in the final of the China Cup against Thailand.

Good luck to all Bianconeri!
