Rita Guarino’s girls effectively have one foot in the Coppa Italia semi-finals after Andrea Staskova’s hat-trick, a header from captain, Sara Gama, a finish from Annahita Zamanian and Linda Sembrant gave them a 6-0 win in Juventus’ Coppa Italia quarter-final first leg.

The Bianconere made a fast and furious start to the match, going ahead after just seven minutes of play. Zamanian’s shot from distance was parried by Empoli goalkeeper, Alice Lugli but only into the path of Staskova, and the Czech forward had a simple tap-in to give Juve the early lead.

Just before the half the Bianconere added two more quick-fire goals. First, Zamanian again set up Staskova, with her through header playing in the striker on goal, who showed great strength to hold off her marker, before rounding the keeper and depositing the ball into the empty net. Then just three minutes later, a cross from Bonansea into the box from a short corner met the head of Gama to make it 3-0 at half time.

Into the second half, and the Bianconere again continued their dominance, and on 65 minutes Staskova sealed her hat-trick! Bonansea’s lung-busting run down the left saw the forward burst into the box before cutting the ball across for the striker to tap-in her third of the game and Juventus Women’s fourth. It was five on 75 minutes, as Zamanian grabbed a well-deserved goal, as with her run into the box seeing her shoot low past the keeper to make it 5-0.

Juve were still not done there and added a sixth with 10 minutes remaining. Zamanian chipped a ball to the back post for Sembrant to turn home, and complete a hat-trick of assists for the French midfielder. Bonansea nearly got in on the act three minutes from time when her shot from distance came back off the crossbar.

6-0 it finished and the Bianconere will look to complete the job on Wednesday 26 February when they host Empoli Ladies in the return fixture at Vinovo.
