Juventus Women put in a dominant performance to claim an impressive 5-1 win over Inter Women at Stadio Ale e Ricky in Vinovo on Sunday afternoon. Barbara Bonansea opened the scoring, before Cernoia, Girelli (two) and Sembrant followed up with second-half goals.
The Bianconere started off by being the first team to attack at goal, and they came close to nabbing the opening goal with an angled drive by Bonansea that skipped across the face of goal and went out at the far post with four minutes on the clock. Giuliani them smothered Tarenzi’s shot and it fell to the feet of Gama, who swept it out of danger with ease. It was Inter who was pushing for a goal and they threatened through Alborghetti, who was brilliantly denied by Juventus ‘keeper. Juventus finally did take the lead in the 43rd minute of the game through Bonansea, who got onto the end of Boattin’s cross to slot the ball past the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute.
After the break, Tarenzi was the first to fire a chance at goal and it was parried by Giuliani. Cernoia then made the scoreline 2-0 when she sliced home a left-footed effort from Bonansea’s assist to score her sixth goal of the season. The Bianconere then came agonizingly close to adding a third goal in the 64th minute when Girelli knocked the ball onto the crossbar, before Pedersen knocked down the rebound straight into the arms of Aprile. Zamanian was introduced into the game with just over 20 minutes remaining, as she replaced Bonansea. Inter made the scoreline 2-1 when she nodded a cross into the back of the net in the 72nd minute. Juventus were then awarded a penalty in the 77th minute when Girelli was brought down in the box, she took to the spot and converted the effort with precision to make it 3-1. A fourth goal was scored in the 85th minute when Sembrant got onto the end of Zamanian's long ball to nod it into the back of the net. The fifth and final goal was added when Girelli turned and fired in a brilliant ball past Aprile to wrap up an imposing victory.
