Juve defeated Fiorentina 3-0 in this Sunday's lunch match, thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored twice, making it 50 goals in the Bianconeri shirt, and Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutch defender, Maurizio Sarri and Alex Sandro all commented on the game as follows:

MATTHIJS DE LIGT

“I’m very happy, I had already scored in Turin but not as my stadium, and then it was against an historic opponent. We want to carry on like this and continue to improve. We reacted after Napoli, it was the answer that we had to give. In the first half, we had some difficulties against a compact team, then we stepped it up. My Italian is improving although it's not easy, because Dutch is very different, but I'm learning! I'm having conversations with my teammates.”

ALEX SANDRO

“We played well, scored three goals without conceding and played a solid game. Szczesny put in a good performance and it was important not to concede goals, we are also growing defensively and in my opinion, we must continue like this. When we lose a game, we get angry and we must transform this anger into strength and desire to give everything we have on the pitch and today this transformation has served us well.”

MAURIZIO SARRI

“We have many extraordinary offensive players so there are many solutions available to us. Today, I preferred to start with Douglas Costa to give more depth to our offensive threat. It was difficult to decide on which players to choose as leaving players like Dybala out is never easy... Just see how he played in the final minutes.

“We have moments in which we have a lot of intensity and we also have more passive moments in which we suddenly lose our characteristics: our goal is to have as much continuity as possible.

“Cristiano continues to score, which is great for his mental conditioning. He is now almost 100% physically fit and he's making a difference for us. Rabiot is getting better, he is starting to play important games, we've noticed his growth for three or four games now. Douglas Costa is now training with more continuity and is improving his condition.”
